Bird’s Eye Cove Farm : Rustic Wedding Venue
Nestled between rolling hills in the picturesque Cowichan Valley, Bird’s Eye Cove Farm is a perfectly serene place to celebrate your marriage. A 300-acre working farm in operation since 1860—and still family-run, this gorgeous landscape is infused with a unique heritage, making it one of our favourite rustic wedding venues.
The farm boasts a newly-built timber-frame barn to host private events and sits in the middle of the land, surrounded by fields, flora and fauna. With traditional timber work (and at 3600 square feet), there are few such barns for rent for weddings, this one is truly one-of-a-kind!
The busy-ness of day-to-day feels far away from this sweet paradise. With an expansive pastoral backdrop and peeks of ocean view, the photos here are always filled with the warmth of nature. And, with Highland cattle roaming and happy chickens running freely about, there’s a lively connection to a rural way of life.
This wedding could feel like a hoe-down if you so desire, but where it really charms is with a refined and elegant homeyness. The family owners are considerate stewards of the land and regularly host long table dinners with a farm-to-table approach. They have great staff to help you with your wedding, table and chair setup is available, as are linens and tableware rentals.
Alongside the venue itself, there are two lovely accommodations for rent on the property so, if you choose to stay, the bride and groom can prepare for the day close to the site and enjoy a restful sleep the night before (and after!). Alongside the convenience, this means you can capture all the photos of getting ready and first-look moments.
Known as “the Warmland,” Cowichan Valley is just 50 minutes north of Victoria (and south of Nanaimo), making it a wonderfully central area to have a wedding with a remote feel.
