Set on a former winery, your Starling Lane wedding will have enchanted ambience. With its heritage status, rustic winery wedding venues like this are few and far between. The property, gardens and cluster of buildings on and around it hearken back to an agricultural nostalgia filled with old-world charm.

Stroll through the gardens to the altar in the vineyard. There are several picturesque locations on the property offering a mix of wedding ceremony venues for a large gathering (150 people), while the indoor spaces—the old winery barn and the charming white and glass plant house—are for more intimate groups and can hold up to about 50 guests. There are areas where a reception can be held outside, too, under the stars or rent an event tent if you’re concerned about the weather!

The quaint bridal cottage is available so you can get ready for your ceremony—also great for taking on-site photos of your first-look or bridal party. The other buildings, which have been lovingly restored for private events, create a cute backdrop for fun photo setups and group shots. Note*: All income from events goes to continuing to restore the property.

With that in mind, Starling Lane is all about romance and its unique setting, it’s not so much the loud party-until-the-sun-rises venue. The option to take celebrations elsewhere after your reception is always available, and downtown Victoria is not too far away!

While there’s an on-site kitchen, it’s not certified; caterers can only use the facilities for serving food (not preparing it there), but they’re welcome to use the commercial-grade cooler. You get your choice of caterers here—and there’s plenty in Victoria who do a fantastic job and have likely worked at and are familiar with this venue.

Out on Old West Saanich Road, just a 25-minute drive from downtown Victoria, Starling Lane is a hidden gem in a central location. Please ensure guests know to find a safe ride home as there are no accommodations on the property.
