If you’ve been searching for mountaintop wedding venues, think of putting Mount Washington in BC at the top of your list. This destination, in the middle of Strathcona Provincial Park, is surrounded by dramatic peaks and old growth forest. Birds flit between the pines here while larger wildlife roams (or hibernates) in the surrounding landscape.

Scenic and stunning in every season, in summer this venue is lush with evergreen trees and alpine meadows; in winter it’s completely transformed into a snowy white wonderland. It’s up to you to decide between warm sunshine and wildflowers or a cozy apres-ski vibe with snow-capped mountains. Take a ride up the chairlift to grab incredible photos of your wedding party (June-September), or get your first look captured amidst silvery powder. *to note: Raven Lodge is only available for private events during the alpine resort’s off-season, from May-November.

Mount Washington boasts a highly unique and customizable experience. With several outdoor ceremony areas, you can imagine any size of wedding to celebrate here. Choose what works for you. Accommodations at the resort are plenty in number and variety: get an intimate cabin with a woodstove for just the two of you, or go family-style and book neighbouring chalets with a hot tub on the patio for the week!

Mount Washington is perfect for adventurous types and nature-lovers; it’s a place that feels big and bold and wild. While the natural surroundings might take the cake, they won’t make it—the culinary team at the mountain will! Catering is available at the Raven Lodge during summer months (the off-season for ski bums).

Mount Washington is three hours north of Victoria (one and a half hours north of Nanaimo) on Vancouver Island and easy to access via the Island Highway. Comox Valley, with the towns Comox, Cumberland and Courtenay, is at its base; the closest airport is in Comox.
