A blossoming orchard at Merridale Cidery presents a sweet and picturesque venue for your wedding! Nestled in the Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island’s “Warmland,” this is a working farm, and emanates an authentic agrarian nature. However, as far as rustic winery wedding venues go this one is delightfully curated to show off its chic elegance and the best of what the beautiful landscape has to offer. This is the place if you’re looking to celebrate under the stars, dance in air sweetly scented with flowering apple trees, and find the perfect blend of elegance for your barnyard wedding venue.

With plenty of outdoor space and options for beautiful intimate and group photos, Merridale summer weddings include a pondside ceremony and a stroll through the gardens for your reception the Farmhouse. For large parties, a white event tent fits up to 150 people; linens, glassware, a sound system, podium and more can all be included in a wedding package, leaving your mind free to indulge in the good moments and company. On-site catering provides a farm-to-table family style dinner and you can’t get more local than the cider on offer here.

Winter weddings are cozier but no less romantic, the Farmhouse can accommodate 65 people for a seated dinner and 125 for a cocktail-style reception. During the colder months, the ceremony takes place on the covered patio with tall wooden beams overlooking the orchard. Guests can cozy in with blankets, hot apple cider for the nuptials.

While there’s no accommodations at Merridale for large groups, the bride and groom are invited to stay at the bridal yurt on the property where they can prepare for the ceremony and spend some quiet time together after the big day.

Cowichan Valley is just 50 minutes north of Victoria (and south of Nanaimo), making it a wonderfully central area to have a wedding on Vancouver Island.
