Affinity Guesthouse in Cowichan Bay is set on 26 acres in a quaint little seaside town up island from Victoria. If you’re worried about finding a place to fit a crowd at your Vancouver Island wedding, here’s a place where you won’t have to pick and choose your guestlist. There’s no maximum capacity at this wonderfully rural outdoor venue (except for the limitations of the size of tent you’d like to rent). Intimate gatherings (under 30 people) can be accommodated on the covered patio overlooking the property.

Affinity Guesthouse offers a wonderful amount of flexibility for you to plan your day however you’d like it. The owners are friendly and personable and love to be involved in making your day stress-free. Combined with a homey feeling, the simplicity and absence of the busy-ness of life encourages you to relax and be present here.

There are a few guestrooms available at the venue—take advantage! Couples can book exclusive use of the property and the natural ambience will ensure you feel rested up for the big day. Accommodations could suit the bridal party or the close family so they can prepare on-site; the main guesthouse sleeps 13 and the carriage house holds 11. Other guests are allowed to pitch a tent along the grassy nooks of the garden and orchard, so they can continue celebrating into the wee hours and wake up to the birdsong in the morning. Campers are also welcome, however, there are no hookups.

While in-house catering is not available, Duncan wedding venues can choose from a variety of options in the area. Affinity Guesthouse works with a list of partners to ensure your taste preferences are met (and caterers are allowed to use the kitchen facilities).

Known as “the Warmland,” Cowichan Valley is just 50 minutes north of Victoria (and south of Nanaimo), making it a wonderfully central area to have a wedding with a remote feel.
